Amsterdam welcomes World Congress of Families V

The Fifth World Congress of Families will be held in Amsterdam, from August 10 to 12, 2009, as decided by the Selection Committee of the global organization based in Washington DC.

Along with Holland, Nigeria, Lithuania, Bolivia and Russia were nominated as possible venues.

The theme of the next congress will be "Family: More than the sum of its parts" and will be held in the Amsterdam RAI Centre, a facility that can accommodate about four thousand people.

The IV World Congress of Families was held last year in Warsaw (Poland), with the attendance of 4000 participants, with previous conferences in Mexico City in 2004, in Geneva in the year 1999 and Prague in 1997.
