Stand Up Comedy is NOT Pretty

It;s tough for both people.
Comics can be very funny and work hard, but still have to work up a name for themselves and aren't gonna be able to make any money for a long time, and the club owners aren't gonna care until they have exposure,
But the club owners have to draw audiences and make money, and having a bunch of new comics who noone has ever heard of doesn't do that, and you have to deal with a lot of crappy, unprofessional comics as well as good ones.

This is 100 percent accurate.

doing events at a moments notice, "voluntaring" to help set up said events, force to take care and play chauffeur for more successful people. this is exactly like amateur boxing but with less punches to the face

@soulflycfh42 Even the part where the promoter says "once you play my club you are not allowed to play any other comedy clubs in town?"

Yeah bringer shows are kind of a rip off, hey?
I know it;s brutal, but when I've just done open mics, it is awesome though.

...being a comedian sucks...

If you're a comedisn and u do or even consider doing bringers u are a sucka. If u pay your way to do sets u are a sucka. If u have to resort to any of that then you're simply not that good and should not be worried about getting paid yet.

Great....that sounds fair hahahahahhahaha
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. being a comic I know that this is dead on.

As a booker that is married to a comic, I find this to be hilariously accurate.
