If I recall correctly, it he early Cobra's, the ones that created the legend by winning all those races in the 60's were powered by 289's.

@KitCarConnection the earlier ones were 289's, then came the 427's. its the same way with the GT40's. They started with the 289's in the 60's then bumped up to 427's.

@LeontariF1 not totally true..i owned a 03 350 z and an 03 wrx at the same time. i used to take turns driving them...the z would handle and turn very precisley but the breaking point could easily be felt just before it would lose control but once it did lose control..there was NO!! RECOVERING FROM IT!! BUt when id drive the subaru around the same turns i did with the z it was waay more forgiving and took way longer to get to the point of losing control than did the Z. so bottom line..subie wins
