  • Well BWF Sabian has an interesting take on the joke about sitting on the LAWN.

Think I'll "Block User" for that one.

  • Definitely one of the most underrated British bands ever! Unfortunately, I don't own any of XTC's albums, but I'm sure that it would be worth my while to purchase one of their records with my tax return money. As a matter of fact, It would be ideal if I happened across a Skylarking vinyl record on ebay!

  • Early stuff is very jangly, very new wave /watch?v=o_EP71rK_0o was the first song I loved of XTC. XTC - Radios In Motion

  • The thinks we do on grass tee hee!

  • shock you......lol

  • Furthermore, everytime XTC made a studio album (post English Settlement - 3 albums before Skylarking) they personally lost money in the process, all for the sake of doing what they love: creating art.

The irony of all this context is too thick for even you to cut, sonnyjim - no matter how deluded you may be!!!

From the off, your argument is utterly defunct.

Now hang your head in shame, leave, and never return...and never speak on a subject you know nothing about, ever again.

  • Are you referring to the members of XTC (the band in question, here)?

Cos if you are then you couldn't be more wrong about these guys - they never went to university, and they are from working class backgrounds/lives.

Andy even wrote a song (entitled "Earn Enough For Us") on the album this song originates from, about taking on low-paid jobs (based upon 1st- hand personal experiences) to pay for his family's basic needs e.g. rent, food, etc.

  • Wow. Totally forgot the lyrics but enjoyed this decades ago, and just found a scribbled note: "Utterly fun, reminiscent of Beatles and George Martin". Note from the 70s or 80s... now it sounds to me more like "Stoned Soul Picnic" - but cute!

  • @probrojeffro Simple: They're not promoted. (Flipron aren't promoted either, Despite the quality of their songs they're about as obscure as bedroom musicians can be) Of course everyone's going to know about something if its promoted with millions of dollars, Even more so if a quarter to half the teen population of the world feels like wasting their time complaining about it instead of actually looking for music.

  • it would shock me the resaerch unfoiled head soluble that the dementia and research institute from 2010 with alacrity , when the ball was slippery sure remind me of my alzheimers research to open the mind reflecting clover hovercraft.

  • A superbly creative band.

  • Why oh, why oh, why so few know about this band but everyone knows Jonas Brothers, Lady Ha Ha, and Poison is beyond me.

  • @JohnC2566 I'm old enough to have the original pressings (and the 12" promo flimsy) They are

  • This Band XTC is great. I have most of their vinyl records and CD on the groups record lable Virgin and Geffen. If you can find the Virgin or Geffen CDs you hit the jackpot. Please don't buy the Caroline CD versions. The sound quality is not that good. Also some of the CDs put the songs in different order. I also think XTC is the most under rated british band. The band's harmonies are superb. Also Check out the Dukes Of Stratosphere.

  • The only band I would put above XTC are The Beatles, and it would only be by a hair's breadth. Of course, that is IMHO. I love XTC and they will always be part of my life, I think that is what beautiful art is meant to do.

  • Pity XTC vids are so 3rd rate. Great little band!
