  • is this from the vinyl version of closer ?

  • no--the CD is called Preston--a sort of fancy bootleg

  • Brilliant! Paired with The Eternal this is the most depressing stuff out there... even the equipment felt miserable on this gig!

  • I know, Curtis was one of the most ingenius performing artists of all time--Like a modern Christ--But it always makes you laugh too--Like he's always just about to kill himself, murmuring a few last words into the ether before stepping forth into the abyss....

  • right, exactly--He talked the talk, and then he walked the waklk--Put his money where his mouth was....

  • If Ian Curtis were not so depressive, or even if he could carry on with this, I think they would be the greatest band of the world.

  • @russomorrissey One of the things that made the band so great was because of they're lyrics, which were inspired by Ian's depression.

  • @satozuki the gig sort of brakes down in a bit. I'm just going through all the uploads one by one. this is the set list Incubation (Cross Of Iron) Wilderness Twenty Four Hours The Eternal Heart And Soul Shadowplay Transmission Disorder Warsaw Colony Interzone She's Lost Control

  • amazing song!

  • @Paulph04 thanks for putting me right. :)

  • @kylabotting - No, 24Hours was never a B-side, it was an album track released on JD's 2nd album, Closer. The group did several recordings of it before that though, such as the version done for their second Peel Session in 1979 and this live version.

  • pretty awesome but what happened to the bass somewhere along the way? hook must've had some bass problems, like what ian said at the end.

  • @hurstdale i think 24 Hours was first a B side...can you believe it? it is one of my fav songs by them...
