  • Great review. This is one of my all time favorite video game series, I think the music and atmosphere really creates a sense of fear when your traveling through abandoned school buildings and hospitals. I agree that the constant backtracking and item fetching can be annoying at times, and the weak voice acting is pretty lame but overall I thought the first game was pretty solid.

    Zombie Yoshi ftw

  • @KainSerious8 Thank you! I totally agree with the music and atmosphere comment; there were some points during the game when I was like, "OH HELL NO" and had to stop playing and leave the room for a second, lol. I can't wait to play another scary video game.

And thank you again, I positively love my Zombie Yoshi! I will forever keep him. :D

  • this is awesome! XD Such a shame it has such few views.

  • @Fatstratmatt96 Wow thank you! :) I hope that at some point soon it'll get more views.

  • You seem to have rewieved this game recently. Don't you think it's a bit anachronistic to mention gameplay problems about a game that was released 12 years ago? I remember enjoying playing games where controls were even more annoying than in silent hill (going around for hours in Resent Evil1 for example), but none of these issues were real problems simply because video games weren't as technically evolved as today.(even if we can find tons of other issues in recent games).

    Nicely done though.

  • @DismalProd 12 years isn't that old. For example, Super Mario World (released ~21 years ago) had great controls; for something more similar, Crash Bandicoot (released ~15 years ago) and Spyro the Dragon (released ~13 years ago) both had great gameplay.

My rating is a bit biased because having to deal with the same areas/running around for hours isn't my idea of fun, but I don't think my comment on the gameplay is unjustified.

And thank you for the compliment! :)

  • @FredDThatGuyOverTher Hahaha, I'm glad I can surprise!

  • i'll be honest i didnt think it would begin like that XD

  • @valvelessalarm One thing I did like about this video game was indeed the narrative focus; a lot of work went into it.

And thank you very very much! That's definitely the best compliment I've gotten, and I truly appreciate it. I'm glad that you like the videos and that my work isn't going unnoticed. There will be plenty more reviews to come. :]

  • One of my favorite series, the only Silent Hill I haven't played was Origins on the Psp/PS2, the dialog is pretty laughably bad looking back at it, but still set it's mark as the beginning of narrative focus games with a mature story line, among a few others.

Nice job on the video, I know how much editing and work it takes to make these videos and i'm just to let you know that people do notice and appreciate it.
