Start Of The 36th Annual St. Patrick's Road Race Holyoke, MA March 19, 2011

1. The Male Open Division featured the fastest 2nd place time (29:26/Derese Deniboba) and fastest 3rd place time (29:28/Tim Ritchie) in race history. Only the 1995 race surpassed the 2011 field with 5 sub thirty 10k performances. The 1986 race also featured 4 sub thirty times.

2. Tim Ritchie is the youngest (23) competitor to record a sub thirty 10k performance.

3. Kent Lemme (Williamstown) successfully defended his Master Male title with his 32:58 finish and moved into the #5 position within his respective race division.

4. Emily Bryans (Schenectady) also defended her division title and her time of 36:36 moves her into the #2 slot in the Master Female category.

5. In the Senior Female division Barbara Graf (Leeds) and Rogina Modestow (Hamden) moved into the top ten within their respective division (7th & 10) with times of 44:53 and 45:58.

6. Danbury (CT) high school runners Thomas Moore and Nicholas Carlsen made a successful St. Pat's debut establishing the 2nd (33:41) and 6th best 33:58) high school performances.

7. Zachary Pietras (Ludlow) and Tim Mahoney (Holyoke) broke into the Irish American top ten on the basis of their 33:58 and 34:23 efforts respectively.

8. Kathleen Garvin (Arlington) completed the course in 41:51 good enough for 9th in the Female Irish American.

The 37th annual race will be contested on March 17, 2012. This will mark the sixth occasion the race will be contested on St. Patrick's day; '79, '84, '90, '92. '07.
