Introducing...

And now, I would like to introduce you all to Mr. Sherlock Holmes. ^.^

Sherlock, as seen in the video, is my new Australian Shepherd puppy. He is almost ten weeks in this video, as he will be ten weeks old tomorrow and I took this video today. Sherlock is a show dog in training, and will be competing in his first show next weekend at the BRASC show at Weyer's Cave. This is just a short little video showing off the pretty boy's movement. And yes, I know that towards the end when he's closer to the camera he's over-extending. That is entirely my fault, since I was moving too fast for him.

I also apologize for all the background noise; My camera apparently wants to pick up every sound it can nab. e_e

I will soon be uploading a video of the baby and his best buddy, Tymer. ;-]

Is he a Mini Aussie or a Standard Aussie?

Since there technically is no such thing as a 'Mini' Aussie, he is just an Australian Shepherd. He is a puppy, and he is only 10 weeks old. He will be about 21 inches at the shoulder and roughly 45 pounds when he's full grown.

You are doing a great job with him, he seems to be really getting the hang of showing. Do me a favor though, move him on a dead loose lead, he appears to be straining into the lead which is throwing him front off and is causing him to over extend in the rear. Remember, he isn't Laika, just let him go, and keep up with him, as long as he isn't breaking his gait, and he wants to move in front of you, this is a very good thing.
