You've successfully defined the stereotypical patriarchal view on men and women (and forgetting the strong women rulers as Elizabeth I or Margaret Thatcher etc.) By that you indicate my problem very well. You're defining something that you have no experience with - femininity and being a woman - and thinking you're stereotyphical imagination is the truth and like many others propagating it.

Let me tell you a 'secret' - women DON'T want to be ruled by men.

Power/Control is (considered) masculine so men are tasked with achieving the tools of power (Muscles, Money, Status..etc). Women know this so they often "let" Men be their leaders even when that women is stronger and more accomplished then her Man. which explains my 1st comment. Gay guys play the dominance submissive game for keeps, Hetero's fake it more.

@WhatIsFemininity Well honestly long hair and 17th-18th century fashion denotes elite intelligence not the working class values.

And there is a difference between submission and oppression. Oppression implies a willingness to fight back while submission means complete surrender. That's why some people are submissive to "God" and some are oppressed by religious laws that aren't their own.

The end result of femininity is the act of purposely looking like you can't fight.

@St1kyFinguz Submissiveness? THAT is not femininity. It's just a behavior of oppressed people (mostly by the religion which tells they are inferior). A slave used to be very submissive aswell...

And do you know that in the 17th and 18th cenury long hair and high heeled shues were considered masculine?

@mrtrollmaster1 I think your problem is focusing on the aesthetics of Masculinity and femininity. I on the other hand like to focus on the end results of their application.

Ex) when a man steps up to another man twice his size, refuses to cry, acts soldierly in the face of fear and has militaristic pro fighting features Big muscles, square jaw, short hair etc....That's Masculinity.

Femininity is the opposite..Long hair, soft voice, submissiveness etc..

IT'S NOT THAT COMPLICATED!!!
