No, soul has character creation... and more clunky looking gameplay, though never played this... so I cant say much.

cuz in my opinion, i prefer the old 2D fighting style, it's traditional

this sen version is weird to play, i never got used to this, soul calibur and tekken were originally 3D fighting already, samurai shodown is just like street fighter(2D fighting)

plus, i played from 2 to 5, i love the old characters and their moves, this one is just off the road
