A man who is developmentally disabled is repeatedly abused and then finally killed in a state-run facility in Lubbock, Texas by a state caregiver in front of several witnesses, and still not a single charge has been filed months later. As a country, we must not accept this incredible injustice. Every life matters.

This is happening all across America. We need to work together to stop this abuse and demand accountability and responsibility.!! My nephew Luke Forrest Humphrey died from abuse and neglect on August 17, 2009 @ Glen Rose Nursing Home in Glen Rose, Texas.

There are already plenty of people sit back and criticize, but not enough who actually give enough of a damn to step in. Do something about it like I am... come to work here, and help help fix the problem. You either part of the solution, or part of the problem. Lancelin: unfortunately, if this happens again, all the "wants to turn them in... but" people will responsible for a HUGE portion of it. That just says "she's concerned, just not concerned enough to risk her job to do the right thing".

.......needless to say my wife is disgusted and wants to turn them in...but there all in it togher..on her home most are family anf a very tight racist grp. we also have 2 special need children and are looking into options as what to do and who to talk to about the school without her feeling persecuted by her peers..she actually enjoys the job. i wouldnt be surprised if this happens again..and soon

Ya, my wife recently started working there and within a week of her being on her home its very evident that ppl arnt paying attention to following the book. her peers (including supervisor) informerd her they dont go by the book...a you dont tell on us we dont tell on u attitude. ...........

The name should be the Texas State Supported KILLING Center. This is heinous. Unthinkable. Unforgivable. When will our state finally wake up and see the rampant abuses in these so called "Supported Living Centers?"

I love this song, if everyone believed as the song says and speaks out and makes themselves heard maybe someday things will change. How many people have to die at the hands of "caregivers" before the TRUTH is finally "Believed" We love you Cousin Michael and will always miss you. You were God's gift for the short time you were with us. Don't let his death be in vain!

I am also a mother of a special child, he is almost 21 and lives at home. I have seen him beat up more than once and the police do NOTHING! What happened to your son is beyond tragic and angers me so much, and saddens me deeply. We have one of those schools here in wa state, called Rainier, it's horrible, and many have died there from abuse.. they are still open!!!!!! i KNOW you will get justice for your son..hugs
