    It was a hitchhiker in a live rock or coral.

  • Only other thing in there is a peacock mantis and if this worm can take him out then it deserves to stay there :)

  • Thats the thing when buying live rock, its like a lottery you never know what you get! I once got a worm like this, not as long but it was red, no clue what it was!

  • predatory polychaete worm...Eunice....

    they are very sneaky, very fast moving animals.....you should keep it in a separate tank or at least provide your two predators with enough food.

  • eunice worm, it's a predator worm and will eat practically anything depending on it's size and food available, there quite common unfortunately.

    i would get rid of him, before he lays eggs as there asexual.

    there practicaly impossible to catch as they only come partially out of their den and can zip back in very quickly and are sensitive to light and movement. and make sure you get the whole thing because if cut in 2 both ends will survive developing a new head.
