When can the Chinese govt. and their minions accept they are wrong, they eat what many folks consider pets, and venerate a madman (Mao) who slaughtered millions of their own people. You can never progress beyond the centuries of ignorance unless you accept your flaws and change them. Imagining that 'magical forces from the sky' cause earthquakes makes you look foolish and ignorant.

Some Chinese are naive, there was quite a lot of film footage showing the cats either tied up or in cages awaiting slaughter. If you were old enough to remember SARS you would know this. SARS was the result of eating house cats in China. House cats can carry a virus in their guts related to a virus that causes the common cold in humans (called a coronavirus). Because the cats were sick with the related FIP coronavirus, and were undercooked the virus was ingested and able to jump species. China banned eating house cats, and killed all the cats in pens awaiting slaughter. SARS lasted about a year: 2002-2003.
