KLM Personal Space Experiment: To improve the comfort level of their new Europe Business Class, KLM investigated the boundaries of personal space. With candid camera we went undercover at Schiphol Airport to measure people's behavior as part of our personal space experiment. Hosted by Matt Chapman we want to uncover the secrets of personal space.

  • BECAUSE BUSINESS PEOPLE ARE SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVERYONE ELSE, RIGHT?

  • Because we live in an open market where people that pay more get better service. If this KLM service is that bad, than we can also be angry at restaurants with 3 Michelin stars, Mercedes benz, expensive Whisky, jewelers, etc, etc.

Get over it. This is a great service for people who travel a lot and want some more convenience. Period.

  • What's the song?

  • @Mattyd242

If you fly about a lot, unwanted intimacy is not just a minor inconvenience but a major annoyance.

If there is a virtually empty aisle you'd hope that the guy would give you a little extra room and move over a seat, but not everyone is smart enough to see the space around them.

  • i looove flying KLM...

  • @Mattyd242 Yea they are

  • oh come on! who wouldn't want an empty seat next to them??? have been stuck on a plane, fully packed in, a/c not working properly. Anyone offended by the results, would be the first in line if offered this service. I know I would. As for the "business people are more important the rest" comment, well, they do pay more money and businesses do want more money....

  • Why all the hate? I think the video was funny, no matter what's the conclusion.

  • @Mattyd242 Yes, I certainly think so, unless we're talking about the public sector.

  • Who needs to conserve energy and the environment as long as a few people get an empty seat next to them!

  • i would be fine having a nice chat with someone i can relate to, unless it is a mother with a crying baby, or someone with five kids running up and down the isle and climbing over the seats, every plane has one.

  • I don't get it... do you get an empty business class seat next to you? Or is it economy class?

This is disgusting.. Why would you not want to sit next to someone else and have a nice chat for instance?
