Mordechai Gordon's Irish rendition of Shlomo Carlebach's classic chassidic tune "Yachad Yachad".

מרדכי גורדון מנגן ורסיה אירית של יחד יחד - שיר חסידי שהולחן על ידי שלמה קרליבך.

A "Reel" is a kind of upbeat Irish tune.

Recorded by Mordechai on a Dixon Irish flute, Harper Irish whistle, Mandolin, foot tapping and Ovation acoustic guitar (tuned to DADF#AD).

Cow choreography by Yair Peled (he also produced and filmed) for Israel National News.

Filmed in the Ayalon Valley (situated somewhere between Jerusalem and Dublin).

Mordechai is a member of JMN - Jerusalem Music Network - promoting Jewish world music, founded by South American Chassidic musician Yehuda Glantz.

  • Wow, Mordechai! That was stunning, I enjoyed it too much.

I wrote you an email awhile ago to ask you where to buy whistles in Israel, I'm the guy from Argentina who is going to do Aliya soon, do you remember me?

By the way, your Dixon flute sounded very nice, is that a cylindrical plastic tunable or non-tunable?

Oh, and what's the brand of that low whistle?

    See my vids!

    Shalom,

    Martin

  • Thanks for the kind words, Martin!

The black side blown flute is a Dixon tunable plastic.

The low whistle is a Chieftain low D.

I recently played a Sweetheart D side blown and fell in love immediately - just trying to figure out how to get one to Israel!
