Safia Minney, People Tree (Inspiring Entrepreneurs - Feelgood Fashion)

Safia Minney is a pioneering Fair Trade fashion entrepreneur. The daughter of a Mauritian father and Swiss mother, with a background in marketing and publishing, she moved to Japan in the eighties and set up the environmental NGO, Global Village in 1991. People Tree, the Fair Trade and ecological fashion line was
founded six years later and expanded to the UK in 2001. In 2006, Safia launched Fair Trade into Britains high street with a concession in Topshops flagship Oxford Circus store.
