Another garden in kandong (Kadonko). Here a kind of bitter tomato is grown that remains green and has very bitter taste. A vegetable that is widely used in the Gambian cuisine. This garden belongs to an individual who hires Kandonko women to work the land. The condition of the garden shows that the soil is very fertile and that women know what gardening means.
Hence the women are very interested to have and edit their "own" garden.
