Not effortlessly. He practices constantly and copes with hearing loss in both ears and tendon damage in his right hand. He works hard to make it look effortless for us.

Is it me, or is the audience not giving him proper respect?

Dear Leo, You see how many times people have viewed this clip. Please record Corina Corina.

carpethead, you a hero to people trying to learn leo's music everywhere. this video was invaluable to me years ago when i had just started playing guitar and was trying to figure out corrina corrina. you have done an invaluable service for fingerpickers everywhere. thank you!!!!!

Brilliant! Thank You for your thought and energy in sharing this
gifted human being.
Peace and Blessings.

God bless you for sharing this. I heard him perform "Corrina, Corrina" last night and was saddened at the possibility of not hearing a similar version again. And @ Tman4000, last night's audience gave him the respect he deserves.

There is nobody like Kottke. No combination of comedian and outstanding guitarist has probably ever existed. Awesome.
-
Is it just me or is he indirectly commenting on your filming as upsetting him?
-
...and yet the profundity is amplified....
-
Is it sad, or is it funny--the mic from inside the crowd doesn't seem to record the profundity of what he is saying....
-
Unbelievable. this man plays music, alive. his music is the sixth element.

Listening, watching, enjoying, this wonderfully gifted artist is such a pleasure. His genius is simply mesmerizing. Thank you so much for posting!
It's interesting to see him in such meager settings, I thought Kottke played at much more prestigious settings than this dinky little ampitheatre.

Does anyone know what tuning he's in for Corrina Corrina and Cripple Creek?

Yes, I play my own version of the two combined. The tuning is DADF#AD Best of luck to you.

Correction: The last song that Leo plays on the 12-string is not Busted Bicycle. It is "Morning is the Long Way Home". Great posts, I love them all <3.

Wow... You are right, I had just assumed that was Busted Bicycle because somebody in the crowd just yelled out, "Busted Bicycle!!" and I thought he did that song. But oh well, I guess I need to know his songs better. Thanks.
