  • Couldn't you have turned toward oak tree and both feet in.....?

  • @turbofusion3607 That absolutely would have been the right thing to do. Problem was I didn't realize it in time, and once the back tire was over the curb and in the grass it was all over.

  • Congratulations on being the 7,000,000th person to make that exact mistake in that exact spot. Even one of the owners of the track has stuffed it there.

  • I've done 5 hpde's with Porsche club at Vir .B

ack when I was in blue group my instructor had done the same thing with his car in the exact same spot. It took him awhile to quit flinching we got there in my car. I think that turn and hogpen are the scary ones for me.

  • @L8rApex Its certainly a scarey segment! Car gets light, unloads the suspension, coupled with right rear touching the dirt = disaster... scarey for sure.

  • @AntDX316 The spin had to do with loss of traction between the tires and grass, not downforce. F1 and GT cars spin too, y'know? You can't beat physics.

  • @itr0000 if u had lots of downforce like the F1s and GTs I doubt ur car would have spun like that is what I meant

  • @AntDX316 My passenger and I were both wearing 5-point harnesses in FIA seats with a rollbar, and were fine after the crash. So...what's not safe? A crash is possible in any car. I'm not sure why you keep debating this, as it sounds like you've never been out on track. F1 and GT cars drive the same way I do (granted, with way more talent), and are up on the curbs and in the grass all the time. If you want to know what its really like I suggest you go to to an event.

  • @itr0000 u can just have a car like an F1/GT on the track that doesn't touch the inside outside parts of the track and lap you more than 10 times during the day while u race ur heart out.. if u want to be safe.. u need a "race" car not a "street" car

  • @AntDX316 That's part of the risk you accept the moment you go out on track. If you just want to be "safe", don't go racing.
