Do not say yes to credit card insurance when you are activating your credit card...Here's why...
I'm still waiting to try & get a refund of almost 3 grand from TD Bank's Td Visa card, as administered by TD Insurance...Self-employed people don't qualify anyways, but TD still took my money...Email me if you are having the same problem in Canada grove@sent.com Sari Grove... A Class Action lawsuit may be the only way to get a refund...In the meantime, abstain from using your credit cards, & help to punish these credit card companies for their unscrupulous bad business behaviours...Fraud, Bad Faith insurance, unfair business practices, negative option billing, Tied in selling, non-certified people selling insurance, material facts being omitted when you are solicited over the phone, the lack of a signed contract, exclusions buried in the fine print of an obscure written document that could get lost in the mail but you still are signed up, the list of transgressions go on, not the least of which are the enormous sums taken from people who are afraid of going into debt in the first place- yes, you guessed it, balance protection insurance exploits people who don't have alot of money...Those who were sold this but cannot benefit are, the self-employed, the disabled, the retired, students, the unemployed, seasonal or part-time workers, or people who didn't have a job when they said yes over the phone...Reminder: Say not to credit card insurance...Cancel credit card insurance now if you said yes already...Check with your credit card company if you even have credit card insurance & don't even know about it...Get a refund...If you are self-employed, a student, retired, disabled, a seasonal or part time worker, or unemployed, or were unemployed when you said yes then you don't qualify anyway...The others should know that most claims get turned down for obscure exclusionary reasons in the fine print that you didn't read...Even if you can make a claim, the insurance is so expensive that you are better off to just pay off your debt as you are able- it will be cheaper...
Note about video: Ok, one should probably not record videos when one has just gotten up in the morning & still has that puffy look about them...Also, ferreting a Nicorette gum in one's cheek while talking is not perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing look...Apologies for some of these visual cues- also the attractive plastic on the back of the chair, the laundry bin at back, & various hodgepodge does not do much to inspire confidence in my professionalism, unless one is of the opinion that people who work hard are often slightly or mostly messy, which tends to be the case with me...
To the person who sells this crap...After I posted on my blog about this, a lady contacted me whose son had a credit card...She went to the bank & discovered that he in fact did have this product on his card...He did not know...Which is quite common since there is no signature required...The lady told the bank that she was now unemployed, her husband was as well, & her son was a university student...She said that the bank should pay off her son's balance since he had this thing...Money refunded.

Expert insurers who regulate the insurance industry have deemed that the exclusions of this credit card insurance policy are NOT MENTIONED during the selling moments over the phone when you are signed up...These same insurance professionals who have helped give back millions of dollars to pre-excluded consumers, have ruled that the "fine print" in the written documents are in no way PROMINENT enough for the consumer to self-exclude...The lack of INFORMED CONSENT rescinds the contract, VOIDS it.

p.s. Tied-in selling, which is NOT legal, in this case, is the customer calling in to activate his or her credit card, & AT THE SAME TIME the person on the other end of the line tries to sell them balance protection insurance...The reason tied-in selling is illegal is because of the psychological tie-in between getting your credit card activated & saying yes to anything that is asked that is connected to the call...because you want your credit card you are suggestible to something you don't need

Credit Protection Insurance has been banned as completely illegal in England...
Every single class action lawsuit concerning credit protection insurance in the United States has been successful for the consumers who sued...For example in 2001, Providian had to return over a 100 million dollars to all consumers who had bought this product...
I did not post this video to debate the issue...I posted this video to inform other consumers of this total scam...It is a total scam...
