@75freeman Yes, the BBC is very stingy with its copyrighted material...even with the people whose taxes paid for it. There's a great Alistair Cooke documentary from 1972 called "AMERICA: A Personal History of the United States." BBC has finally made it available on DVD in the UK and Europe. But refuses to issue the "America" series....IN AMERICA. Maddening!! The BBC does make great series with your tax money. Some of the best television programs shown in America are BBC programs.

@Dannys998877 That explains alot we pay for a TV license yet it is very difficult to see or buy great documentaries like this, it drives you nuts the thought of so many historic stories are locked up away from the people who paid to have them made.

GOD BLESS the USA for that OLE sweet MUSIC she has MADE!!!

Privatefender: Thanks so much for posting these nice quality clips. Is there a clip number "06"? I can't find it.

@slasheroid These clips are excerpted from a landmark four hour BBC Documentary called "Lonesome Highway: The History of Country Music" which aired in Britain in 2003. It has also been shown in the US on the CMT country music cable channel. Sadly, it remains locked up in BBC vaults in London. They have seldom rerun it, and (typical of the BBC) have never issued it on DVD. And the BBC also has a habit of demanding that even short clips on YouTube be taken down.

Hi! How’s the series called? I can’t find it anywhere else and I’d love to download the whole thing.
Unfortunately, episode 6 was removed for copyright reasons!
