After seeing all these cvt failures on youtube, I'm convinced that they are big joke.

our dealership told us it was Internal Bearing Failure, and we have to replace the unit and program controller at a cost of $3900.

Hopefully you got this fixed for FREE !... otherwise I would have told the Jeep Dealer that you will use this video with their name on it ! lol

you only had a 30day warranty?

@stonent don't take it to the dealer... you can go to a bunch of other small mechanics that give great warranty and fix it for a cheaper price...

@stonent the same thing had happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I had one year warranty and when i first brought it in they said it was the 4wd pcu that needed replacing so they did that, and the noise was still there. so i brought it in again and they had told me it was the transmission and replaced the whole thing. It was all covered under warranty so i was happy.
Update... At 50,970 miles the transmission finally failed. It would take about 20 seconds to accellerate to 10 miles an hour and the check engine light had several codes set. P700, P0746 and P0777. So had to get it replaced. Transmission is nice and quiet now. Unfortunately it wasn't a free repair. Without the letter to Chrysler the repair would have cost me $5200. They knocked it down to 750.

@babyb360 The dealer said the transmission is going out. They are wanting $1800 dollars to fix it. That is crazy I was on the 30th day of ownership whenI brought it up there. The manager actually said "Well why don't you call your credit union and see if they'll give you some more money"
