This is my song "Bible On A Beach" from "Renaissance Man," the album I made for my final music project at Franklin Pierce University during the spring of 2011. The song was written during the summer of 2009, when the first line came to me, but really, I just wanted a "four-chord song" (I-V-vi-IV) of my own. It's almost a direct rip of Old Crow Medicine Show's folk-revival tune "Wagon Wheel." I was having trouble finding enough finished songs for the album, and even though I never took this song too seriously, I pulled it out, gave it a little reggae/acoustic/folk flavor, some bongos and piano and slapped it on there. Rate, comment and enjoy! :)

Personnel:

Michael Joseph-acoustic/electric guitars, bass, piano and vocals
Nate Gowen-drums and bongos
Produced and Mixed by Alec Gause and Michael Joseph

Lyrics:

Head down that thunder road, leave me a rolling stone
I'll be just fine give my old heart some time to heel
Don't want no money back, just a six-string I will pack
When the sun comes up, I'll be outta here on my four wheels, yeah I'll be...

Chorus:
Gone, like a bird in spring, faster than the wind beneath her wings
That time's just come again to run
Gone, like a summer breeze, whisperin' my name through the trees
Just another chapter written and done

I found some peace of mind in a book written by the sands of time
It's got the answers to every problem in the world
It's led me to this place, to try and find a different face
But the one I want must be on another girl, so I'm gonna get...

Chorus

I don't want to make you cry, but you look bored babe, and so am I
I think it's time we both move on
Leave my mind scattered on the floor, I won't be needing it anymore
In more ways than one, I'll be gone, just like that, I'll be

Chorus
