Looks like fun but the better decision would have been to abort, assuming the pilot didn't have to badly use the washroom, of course.

Wake turbulence is one of those things you hear about in training and think ehhhh then it happens to you and you need new underware
I'm visiting your video trying to understand the accident were a Learjet crashed due to Wake Turbulence... do you think it's impossible to recover from the kind of turbulence generated by a Boeing 767 that were 4 - 5 miles ahead in a Learjet 45 at 9700 feet?

It is possible. WT is a nasty thing. Did the WT create severe turbulence for the Lear that created severe stresses above Va (maneuvering speed)? Can you provide the crash report number so that it can be researched?
Separation is not about mileage, as much as time. WT can last for several minutes. That is the key.
