Hi Paddy
If you want to come across to get some training in, the best bet is to fly into 'Glasgow' (Prestwick) as Fergus did last year, bring (or you can borrow one of my spare ones) a sleeping bag and 'crash' at the house for a few days.
Training is booked by the day rather than a set number of days, so you can just stay for as long as you feel you need/weather permits.
FYI If things work out (selling 1 of my flats) I hope to get across to Erie this year to set do a 'PG training camp'

Hi, the KEY is the science as 95% of the theory I teach DIRECTLY CONTRIDICTS 'normal' PG teaching the students find this standard of flying not that difficult to master...!
So 'Practice, practice, practice' as a general rule will just re-inforce the good OR the bad of what a pilots did in their inital training...

Yep... the 'perfect' time of the year for punchy thermal generating significant variations in the wind vector..
Spring thermals:
Sun higher in the sky + overall air mass cold = larger difference in thermal v air mass = strong lift (& sink) / Wind Shear...

We had some HP over us here in S Ireland on those days, the air was totally unpredictable. It appears that the air was 'cold' but if the sun came out then it all changed every few minutes - direction and speed. Spring needs to get itself together and warm things up !
