Following the modification, the AL-82 has a 1/8 inch thick rubber gasket installed between the blower mounting flange and the chassis. The mechanical rumbling and resonant whine of the blower is almost completely eliminated. What is heard now is the reassuring sound of moving air through the exit port above the pair of 3-500 chimneys. The sound meter is now hovering below a relative level of 5 on the scale.
