During the 1940's there was a large demand for wood in the United States, with giant redwoods offering a seemingly endless supply of trees for consumption. This educational documentary from 1946 shows the cutting, loading, transportation via trucks and steam hauled trains, mill sawing and finishing operations of Northern California's redwood lumber industry.
