transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms

Borderline Personality Disorder is quite often diagnosed instead of or along with Biploar II.

Criteria:

1. frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in Criterion 5.

2. a pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation

3. identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self

4. impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating). Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in Criterion 5.

5. recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behavior

6. affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days)

7. chronic feelings of emptiness

8. inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights)

9. transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms

  • I've never met/seen anyone else with a similar issue. Im an aggoraphopic to the point I dont leave the house much anymore and I have disasociative seizures. Basically, when I get around ppl I space out, I cant connect with whats going on around me, it feels like Im in another dimention or something. Anywho, I just wanted to thank you for uploading this cuz its good to know someone else can relate. Gives me something to connect to, ya know? So thank you. :)

  • This why I made the video, to connect with others like myself, and to show others we are not alone, keep on coping.

  • Wow!!!Just discovered this. Amazing. Thank YOU so much for posting these videos. I am so glad that you took the time to create and post these very concrete explanations of BPD for others. I am unfortunately dealing with a close person who might have BPD. It is SO HELPFUL to have your real explanation. Thanks very much.

  • You are so welcome. I am glad to share my life with others so help combat this dreadful affliction

  • Thank you for this. I do love you and may God bless you for being so open. This is a difficult condition. I want to tell you that you are NOT bad! Your video reminds me of someone that I love VERY VERY much. How can I help? What can I do? Sometimes I am scarred.. Help me to understand. Please!

  • You just need to support your friend when they need a shoulder or an ear. Don't be judgemental. a sharp word or a cruel look ever so minute might be seen as something very ,very bad.

  • well thanks you scared me :/

  • thank you for posting this - it really helped me to understand myself better.

  • @thecrackwalker do you have airfresheners air wicks or any odor cristal? beacuse ever since my mom has put that at my house i lost memory and i also found that it causes estrees and anxiety

  • I have done that disassociative thing for as long as I can remember, it's weird though now that I live alone, I can go get milk for an example and it's stressful and the whole time it's like a dream and when I get home I think to myself sometimes out loud, did that really happen and where am I. Why am I coming in and taking my shoes off, then I shake my head and there is stress.

    Yikes,

    Cheryl
