  • Saw them play Dundee Union supporting Love and Money (just before ) Labour of Love took off - braw night that.Question = What was the name of and what became of the original backing singer ? Anyone know

  • @FenderKing67 Original Hue And Cry Backing singer was called Davie Preston from Craigneuk, near Wishaw. He continues to sing with a Free/Bad Company tribute band in the North Lanarkshire area ... a great singer. G

  • Nice one. This song was written by Michael Marra for a tv play called 'a wee home from home' ( i think ) . He's pretty well known in Scotland and is has written a lot for plays , particularly at Dundee rep. All his songs are fantastic but this one seems to have trancended above all the rest and become something really special. Pat Kanes version is the definitive one!

  • the brothers are without doubt one of the finest exports that this small country

has produced ,the hard work that they put in deserve global recognition, vocals, music, they have the lot looking forward to february.

  • Great to see this has hit 20,000+, have championed it for a long time. Most deserved. XXXX

  • @theMacvarish He might have been brought up there though. He was born in Bellshill though.

  • @legandrydirk : couldn't comment. His dad was my coach at East Kilbride Thistle and even then Ally was light years ahead of the rest of us.

  • @44shug Coatbridge really? Is that how they stayed in the same street as me,in the 80ties before they got famous.Brompton Road in Balornock East.

  • @theMacvarish McCoist was born in Bellshill

  • So apart from these, Roddy Frame, McCoist, and the 79 bus; what else good came out of East Kilbride ?

  • ... what a touching performance and what a great audience!

  • why don't they sing a song about their hometown? coatbridge that is?
