(sighs). The current financial crisis was created by people who saw their homes as "investments", and not commitments to communities they want to live in. The ironic thing is that some of the places with the most stratospheric appreciations now have some of the worst instances of blight. If the last bubble has taught us nothing, its that you should buy a home because you want to live in it, not because you think its going to make you money.

this video is misleading. Lakewood is bad news, it might be a quick drive to work, but rent (if you can find a rental that's not too crappy and isn't surrounded by scumbags and criminals), don't buy in Lakewood, you will lose money.

This is a great neighborhood... Always loved this burb and side of Cleveland. Others come from all over to visit me and love how interesting it is..Not like the boring and fake Crocker Park type suburbs today...Very walkable community.

We lived in Flakewood from '80-95, then got the hell out of there when they elected Madeline (YUK). It's gone down the toilet since. Camel parking, Rab stores all over the place, and empty store fronts elsewhere. They can rename it mini-Iraq for all I care. When we drive through Flakewood, we see a lot of houses for sale. It Sux! We don't miss it at all!
