Cardiovascular training has benefits that strength training cannot offer as well and vice versa. For those who are overweight, cardiovascular training should not be performed at stressful intensities. That's why there are such things as exercise testing/stress tests. Most people just like to self diagnose and treat themselves. This chek guy says mostly what he BELIEVES not what's factual. He's interested in building a certain type of trainee. Read peer-reviewed articles for the real truth.

@wexfordmma6 Actually what I was pointing out is that nothing is written in stone. Obviously it's wrong (not the best way) to train only in one area of fitness like you suggested. Youre not really in great shape if you can run 10 miles but can't squat with a sack of potatoes 10 times. Unless you do weight training or something to stimulate growth of fast twitch muscle then you are doing something wrong. I know because I have a business personal training, I have experience plus I do the research.

@blazinbudsbitch oh ok then they are wrong even though it worked and they where happy with it it is wrong ,so evevybody should train in the same way cause its been decided this new way is best i see it has been writen ih stone, thats very good to know

@wexfordmma6 If they used only cardio to stay in shape then yes they are all wrong. Fitness and health compromises all the things that allow us to live the way we want to. That includes flexibility, muscular STRENGTH/endurance, cardio, and mental training. It's not this or the other, it's the simple fact we need to teach our bodys to function more comptetently in all dimensions, so it will not hold us back from further enjoying life in the future.

@blazinbudsbitch fair enough ,but he might mean heavy lifting in which case would need more rest time than that ,i just think that is the piont he means i am not saying he is right or wrong i like to lift heavy as i can or some times supersets and i also like to go out running for twenty min or it could be an hour its whatever you enjoy i think , there is so many views its hard to know ,like all the guys who used cardio to stay in shape into there fortys and fiftys are they all wrong ,?
-
@wexfordmma6 Well that is just faulty presumption from my point of view. All my work outs are 6-10RM and I super-set after each set so in 30 minutes of lifting there is a maximum of about 3 minutes of rest time.
Paul Check is a clever guy but it's really hard for me to take even half his teachings seriously when he comes up with such statements.
you're the fucking retard sonny. Listen to what the guy is saying. He's not saying cardio doesn't lose weight, he's saying it can fuck your body up in other ways over the long term. Starving yourself iwill make you lose weight, but is that healthy for you?? Doh!!
