What makes Assassin's Creed I cool: The mistery... the gameplay, the storyline.
What makes Assassin's Creed II cool: The way how Ubisoft can make you have the same "i wan't revenge" feeling of Ezio's.
What makes Assassin's Creed Brotherhood cool: Calling Assassins. Way pretty helpful.
What makes Assassin's Creed Revelations cool: That "dark" feeling and the epic ending. And Sofia's boobs. (Oh damn, I'm pervert)

I'm a purist,I'm one of those people who genuinely liked AC1,it didn't feel too monotones to me.I liked the mystery,the hidden conspiracy,that you're playing a part in something bigger than you and the aesthetic.Altair keeps questioning his assassinations,because they've been ordered to him,he also wants to know what's going on.I still think Altair had better characer design than Ezio's washed out robes,but at least Ezio has a motive and you can understand him.
