  • Dude, you only have one song from Animals on your ipod?!?!?!

Anyway, curious... How is the performance going track to track? With the previous generation it was S L O W . . . (as was the original) Tap next, wait a second or so, then it starts, whereas the ipod itself is almost instant. Any better on the 305??

  • @MickBurkellc From what I recall the track-to-track time was fine -- there was a slight delay loading the track list though.

I sold my truck with the stereo in it, so I can't go double-check... sorry. But I do have more Floyd on my iPod now than I did then ;)

  • PS: I had a SONY with a 'Tune Tray' for the iPod put in last week. My car's console is quite close to the firewall (sports car), so it overheated the iPod something fierce (to the point it shut-down). So the installer at BestBuy (they've been GREAT to deal with on everything) sourced an Alpine, then found the model in this video (not even on their website yet). It's PERFECT! We do not require a CD player anymore (the laser tracking goes on them), this has Handsfree Bluetooth. It's perfect!

  • A great video... thank you. I already had this unit booked to be installed next Wed. and then found your video. So, thx. for post it.

To others on here asking questions about the unit. How about 'GOOGLING' the 'FEATURES' of this unit. It would take you the SAME amount of time that you have posted here HOPING this poster would reply to you. How LAZY have you gotten?! ALL of your questions could be answered on finding the 'Features/Spec Sheet' on the internet. Time-wasters.

  • go Ace of Base!

  • @ihop23947 not legal in most states to use portable electronics, so they prob don't make those.

  • What if you put music in different folders on the USB Key. Will it let you select folders?

  • Uhm dont put ur music in a folder and it should work

  • how come when i use a usb drive with music on it my head unit doesn't pick up the fact that the usb is connected? I have it formated to fat32 like your supposed to and i only put like 20 songs on it just to test it out...can someone help me out?

  • I don't see much difference between this and my Pioneer controlling an iPod and it's annoying as crap!

Can you turn down the volume while searching the iPod menu?

Does anyone know of a radio that controls the iPod USING the iPod???? It would be so much easier.

  • hey how can i use an mp3 player with this stereo

  • i thought the USB slot is left from the Source button. what is it then? how long is the USB cable?

  • Nice Head unit.

  • I've recently bought this head unit, and I've been reading the manual. If you go onto i-customize.alpine.com (Sounds dodgy, but if you read the manual, it's a genuine Alpine website) You can download custom backgrounds for the screen.
