@tahayyur ..If you get the chance, view ANUP JALOTA'S video on UTUBE..AAJ JAANE KIH ZID NAH KARO-and ANUP JALOTA IN A CLASSICAL MOOD-&.GHUNGROO TUT GAYE..all these in my opinion are masterpieces by the Professor of Music [as I like to refer him] they are all very educational.. I learn from them ..and Mr Salman Alvis works as well,since these are the only two Master's I usually refer all aspiring students to watch and better themselves..studying the control of Raag,Sur.and emotions.

@01Musicguru Coincidentally Salman sb. many times talks about Mr. Anup Jalota and says that though he has never met him also but has great respect and admiration for him, his control and his knowledge. He often says "whenever I get a chance I would definitely want to meet him". By the way amongst the newer generation, Salman sahib praises Sonu Nigam ans Sajjad Ali

@01Musicguru ..one day we shall be able to officially register this in the near future ..when I formed the MHF-THE MEHDI HASSAN FOUNDATION-in 1999 ..it was with the same intentions..sadly..Mehdi Hassan sahib's health doe's not allow him to do many things..however..there is a NEED for GURUS and Ustaads LIKE Mr Salman ALvi to come forward and fill in this GAP.

The Utube Media is a blessing in disguise for the Millions of aspiring,but,disadvantaged musicians who are lacking the help of an Ustad

@01Musicguru ..therefore,it goes to show that Mr Salman Alvi is indeed a "bearer of the fruits" thus he feels that he is not "competent enough"?He is humble!..however..that is for the wider audience to judge and decide..and Mr ALVI is in no position to" degrade his own value".. @01Musicguru ..cont.. to refer to these two Professors of Music..attend their lectures on utube..that is watch their Videos and learn from them..having said that,,there are quite a few Videos of the Legends and Ustaads as well which are quite educational.however I find a big and varied selection of SALMAN ALVI-AND ANUP JALOTA..and these can be accessed easily on Utube.There is a saying that"The tree that bears the most fruit-is usually the one that's bowing down with the weight of fruit "..co .

@tahayyur..it come's as no surprise..Mr Salman Alvi..Mr Anup Jalota are two musicians for whom I have immense respect..as in my quest for the search of SUR-TAAL-LEH-RAAGS-.I find that the above two command a LOT OF KNOWLEDGE..and although..I HAVE NOT YET MET EITHER OF THEM IN PERSON..I keep getting glued to their style of Music..knowledge..the way they play with the Raags..in twists and turns..I refer to their Videos to gain an Educational tution..and advise all aspiring classical singers..Cn

@01Musicguru In fact I once requested Salman Sahib to start a short series on the U Tube for basic learners. Some tips, some basic theory etc. as he always speaks about lack of forum, and I offered him that I will make the home videos and post them but he said smilingly "I don't consider myself competent enough to be teaching people, I am a student myself" I don't know if you can also write to him through this forum and persuade him. Maybe this might help many.

I am recommending all aspiring vocalists to refer to this Mr Salman Alvi's Video-for reference..and perhaps consider this as a"UNIVERSITY LECTURE"..as we in the Eastern Music ..sadly lack such institutions-albeit-the ones that exist are either too isolated or "closed shop" only for a selected few..but with this UTUBE ..channel..every aspiring student can take advantage and "LEARN-FROM THE USTAD'S!
