Recipe For an Optimistic Halloween

An optimistic Halloween begins with Decorations. Pumpkins, spiders, skeletons witches ghosts--all good things for Halloween. You could also add werewolves, bats, Frankenstein, and black cats. Be sure to have something that makes people say "EWWW!" Orange and black are staple colors for Halloween. Add people you love. Floating eyeballs make any drink delectable for Halloween. Crank up the scary music, wear a costume, and remember the candy!

Light plenty of candles. Be sure to name your food something clever. Give traditional foods a new "face". Have FUN! Minimum costume is ONE BLACK TOOTH.

Rent a scary movie, have a poetry reading of scary poems --Edgar Allen Poe. Do something different.


Menu Shown:

Giant Fingernails and tongue slices: (Caprese: Beefsteak tomato slices with slices of mozzarella cheese, basil and balsamic vinegar. Serve with sourdough bread.)

Wheat Thins with homemade cheese ball

Vegetable platter: olives, cauliflower, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, blanched green beans with dill dip

Knuckles of Knights: (Potstickers)

Potion Pops: (Purple, green, and yellow mini muffins with sticky goo sauce)

Eyes of Newt: (Teriyaki Meatballs)

Drinks: Bone Stew (Orange soda with vanilla ice cream--float eyeballs and plastic bones) and Albino Blood (apple juice)

Graveyard Greens: (Spinach salad with pecans and bacon)

Shredded Ghost Hair (Coleslaw)

Vampire's Chunky Delight: (Chili)

Werewolf Bait: (Potato Cheese Soup-- Garnish with sour cream, bacon, cheese)

Jerked Jackal Jowls and Albino Bat Wings braised in Vampire Blood: (potatoes and beef)

Jack O'Lanterns (Flour tortillas fried with cinnamon sugar)
