In Matthew 6:9 says 'let your name be sanctified'

True, the mere absence of the word Trinity does not prove a thing in relation to the correctness or incorrectness of the Trinity doctrine. The evidence against the Trinity should come straight from the scriptures.

@PhilPho1 have you ever looked at the definition of "sanctified"? It means sacred, holy, respect, and yes, even for sacred religious uses. I cannot find a single definition of sanctified that says to use it casually, or use to make a point, or use to prove you are right. I personally find the name too sacred to use in everyday conversations. I DO let His name be sanctified. I do let His name be sacred. I don't use it as an advertising tool.

In the Lords Prayer (Matt 6:9) it says "let your name be sanctified" God's name is YHWH aka JHVH aka Jehovah- this way it is prenouncible, so to sanctify it we must spread the word and teach about Jehovah, that is what the scripture means.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. However, if Jesus quoted either the LXX or the Hebrew at Matthew 4, then he would have used God's name. Besides, many of the Psalms were prayers where Jehovah is used numerous times according to both the Hebrew and the oldest LXX manusripts.

@MOREHARTH- You are correct. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. I've been trying to get JWs to understand that for years. You know, like the fact that the Bible doesn't use the word "Trinity." If the Trinity isn't trues becasue the word isn't found in Scripture, then Jesus never addressed God in prayer as Jehovah. It is the same argument.

Jesus and god have the strongest father and son relationship ever in the history of the earth. Now, my relationship with my dad is absolutely nothing compared to that of theirs, and yet, I don't call my dad by his name. Then surely in the relationship between Jehovah and Jesus I'm not surprised Jesus calls him father, rather than by name.
so my question back would be: Why SHOULD Jesus have to call his father by name?

@07713c- Exactly my point. Why should ANY of us address God as Jehovah?
