Seq24, ZynAddSubFX

A video showing Seq24 and ZynAddSubFX, running under Ubuntu 8.10, playing a composition I made.


There weren't many videos of Seq24, so I thought I'd make one for anyone who is interested in using it. Seq24 and ZynAddSubFX are both in the Ubuntu repositories, and probably in most Linux repos, you can get both of them for Windows, too. Wasn't quite sure what to do with the camera while it was playing, so there's a lot of shuffling around and I open one of the patch waveform editors near the end.

To install under linux, run the following command in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install qjackctl seq24 zynaddsubfx -y


All the software is pretty self explanatory once you have a play with it, make sure you run Jack Control first and click start before you launch the other programs.

when i try to install seq24 i get an error saying i am missing a .dll, what am i doing wrong?

I use the linux version of seq24.You should try googling your question or asking on the Seq24 forum.

very good,i have used seq24 a couple of times with zynaddsubfx... seq24 reminds me of my old alesis-mmt8 the way you can toggle the loops on and off in realtime.....

Seq24 does what it does plain and simply, and it works very well. I'd have every confidence in using it for a live set.

You should send this vid to the zynaddsubfx crew to post on their site. Its a far better demo of what zyn can do than they provide. :) Great work!

Aye lkrbt, Mate, awsome tracks , the other one you've done with LMMS as well, but you really should get your self a tripod for your video camera. :)

Check out the band "Cervello Elettronico" and see if it is possible to replicate their style with those tools.
