What does America have in response? No one even close, I'm afraid. Of course it's not the same. On Idol they're looking for pop and rock stars...someone who sings classical hasn't a chance simply because of the genre in which they sing. If Idol was a bit more broad like BGT, we might see more singers like Susan as well. For Idol, though, she likely wouldn't have even auditioned because by now it's very clear to everyone that if you're not going to sing new and popular music, you're not what they want.

American Idol stinks. I can hardly stand to even watch it any longer. Maybe they'll cancel it this year, who knows...

I don't know if American Idol can compete or not. Their talent has been terrible the last few years.
