I will never forget inviting Rudy out from California to dinner in norhtern NJ. I was in high school then ... back in the early 70's ... listening to his songs on my Victrola while the rest of my classmates listend to the Dead! He is timeless!

@bearcub410 I see no sense in comparison ... Michael Jackson was just a modified copy of Elvis Presley.Se you look at their costumes as well ... Of course, he created a style more different, but it's different coming from a copy.

@davidglow3 Shows how obtuse the Zonophone crew was. Another lost opportunity for Britannia

The drummer behind Rudy Vallee is easily recognizable from clip to clip. Lol, I'm curious now: who was he, what happened to him, does he have descendants?

RUDY VALLEE WAS THE MICHAEL JACKSON OF HIS DAY , HE WAS HUGE . THANKS GREAT CLIP

To: KuatoLives ... I don't think that is on the original soundtrack. Doesn't sound like a 1929 effect. Must have been added much later.

Mabey when it was edited for TV in the 50's?

What's with that guy repeating "It's Rudy Vallee" over and over again? It's kind of creepy.

I don't really know. I'm thinking it was possibly a cheap attempt by the editor to make the audience sound a little fuller. This wasn't a low budget film & you would think they could've at least recoreded several differant voices....hmmm....?
