dam i remember watching this game, i think they didnt have golden goal system back then and it was so it was 120 mins of breathtaking suspense n action. roberto baggio was one of the best players of the 1994 tournament along with stoickhov, romario,bergkamp, n bebeto. what a shame that ppl will only remember him for this misses penalty kick, rather than what a great soccer player he was

@nizzam1 Bergkamp didn't play at USA '94. Yup, Baggio's miss proved that he is human after all, but he is still a legend in football world.

Baggio to me is like Ramades from the opera Aida who 1st saves Egypt yet later his error gave a way a military secret to Ethiopia like Baggio's miss to a certain extent gave Brazil the world cup

@Edifice06 I dont know if he voluntered maybe he was voluntered but this does not matter he simply missed. It can happen to anybody and I do not think that his hamstring had much to do with it as his shot definately did not lack power but direction

@damainmg I agree with you completely that the lose was not Baggio's fault because he was not the only one who missed actually Sacchi used this miss by Baggio to not include him in Italy's team in England 96 and from the national team which played to qualify to France 98. Cesar Maldini was the one who brought Baggio back to Italian team for France 98.

Even if Baggio scored, Pagliuca have to stop Bebeto`s Pk, Blame Massaro and Baresi not only Baggio, Baggio almost single handledly Italy to Final, and Btw Sacchi (MOFO) didnt like Baggio, he just call him for Media Pressing and was living his prime FY Sacchi
