There's actually a special evolution form that is only available in the Final Ocean. When you are in the water, go to the Evolve Body screen and you can access a special option, I think it's called "Evolve body further". It turns you into a seal, and then if you evolve again a dolphin, and then a porpoise, and finally a mermaid. The mermaid can swim fairly quickly and it attacks by blowing bubbles. Sadly, the game won't let you use it anywhere but that level. Hence "give you a new body".

If you still have the option, you could just grow a long neck and have better reach, outside the range of many enemies so they don't tickle-torture you so much.
