A French court on Friday told Google that it cannot digitise French books without the publisher's approval and ordered the online giant to pay 300,000 euros in damages. A victory for copyright says Alain Kouck, vice-president of France's second largest publisher Editis.Duration: 00:40

  • google doesnt make the whole book available, they index it and make it easier to find. people can read a few pages online.

    however current copyright laws require permission even for that, and european copyright is more about artistic integrity and author control of works than about money.

  • @kikeocho so if you spent 2 years writing a book, and put it in stores to make a living, you wouldnt care if I scanned it, put it on the net, and made you lose your money? think about it.

  • so bloody annoying one voice in my right ear and another voice in the left year. I absolutely could not stand it for 17 seconds and forced to pause or I would literally go crazy. AEWTQAWET1!!!!!
