Can I use this diet for ulcer colitis??

A lot of Crohn's has been blamed on a possible small intestinal virus. If you starve it out, that is potentially one way to cure Crohn's. There was recently an antibiotic, still seeking approval, overseas, which seems to cure it--but point being, seems to be related to foods that feed this organism. As far an "autoimmune disorder," I still assume the immune system is attacking what's IN the colon, which is why it is purging, not the colon itself. 15 year Crohn's/UC sufferer! Diet DEFINITELY key.

doctors are a bunch of jokers, they really seem to have belief that diet has nothing to do with it... i wonder sometimes if they want you to be on drugs forever :( ...... had ULCERATIVE COLITIS for 10 years. peace to all .

@cakey527 I just uploaded a video about this, I found a Dr. who has cured 2,000 some people from this disease, I am one of them. Give it a check, and save her colon it DOES NOT have to be removed.

Hey Jay, looks like some people just don't want to try it. I've been on SCD, as well as adopting some of Patel's protocols and it has been working. Med free for 1.5 years now. In addition to my Crohns leaving me alone, I have more energy than ever before and have had other less painful health condition go away as well. Eating healthy (Almost vegan, 100% SCD for me) and lots of exercise have changed my life. Keep spreading the good word
Do you think you may just be in remission as a coincidence? As Crohn's is a flare up/remission disease, it may be that you coincidentally went into remission. Also, don't you dare say Crohn's is a "lifestyle" illness, I was diagnosed aged 7. How on earth did my lifestyle AGED 7 give me crohn's???!

@vickyturd remission hmmmmm well perhaps.........i've been in so called remission for 4 years and I follow the advice of many of whom have been in this remission for 10, 15, 20 plus years so it can be called anything regardless I'm med free and living. this disease can be complex in its origins... genetic component, lifestyle diet-toxins etc

@vickyturd there is no easy answer to this as it holds lots of complexities....u have to be open to them before you say not a chance...............many degenerative "lifestyle disease" like arthritis, diabetes, IBD's etc are even appearing in babies that never did before which shows that our health problems can be transferred to our children. There is scientific proof to back this up. Many children get IBD's and an important question is what is a "healthy" diet?

@vickyturd healthy diet....I speak with many ppl and they tell me their children diets high in complex carbs, sugars...juices etc. these kinds of diets can change the bacteria in the gut....also consider Johnes disease in cows replicated CRohns D and is transfered to their calves......could this disease or bacteria whatever you consider it affect humans through drinking milk? chances are possible...regardless there are many components to IBD's ...can you beat them in my eyes YES!!!!

i dont understand how diet would cure this disease. It is an auto immune disease so your immune system is turning against you. So eating food wouldnt really effect it,ive felt the pain and it was the worst pain of my life. im 7 months clear on remicade.

@Jxkilla When you heal the underlying causes through nutrition your body will heal itself. Seek out people using SCD and other protocols and you will see for yourself as they are not trying to sell you anything. In regards to your remicade I caution you to search for anyone on it for 5+ years without issue....you will see drugs never result in anything but more side effects and added health problems. The right way is the hard way but its worth it that I PROMISE YOU!
