This was the first year we had the tractor and box scraper on the pile. The transmission on my New Holland went our after corn silage this year so we had to improvise. I think we all learned something watching this...

  • I saw a JD with a Degelman blade in the back of the screen. how come you did not use it?

  • We did, but the tractor with the Degelman cant keep up with this pile. We normally use our New Holland tractor with its Degelman and another tractor to pack this pile, but the transmission on our New Holland was out. The scraper worked really well on the pile until we tried to get it off We have broke this same piece several times using it to clean the feedlot up too.

  • Sorry TwoTone98Z71 I deleted your comment why trying to reply to it. If you read the information I have posed about the video you would see that the transmission on the New Holland tractor went out after we finished with corn silage. So our biggest tractor and blade was down all through high moisture corn. Other then the trouble we had getting the scraper off it worked really well on the pile.

  • wow thats too bad..u ever get it fixed?

  • Yeah we got it fixed and have broken it again a few times cleaning the feedlot.

  • lol, i like how they all seem so concerned

  • haha this reminds me of that book i used to read as a lil kid... "mike mulligan and his steam shovel" or something like that... they dug a foundation but forgot to leave themselves a way out... kinda similar to your situation except you didnt really forget...

  • By the way got some new video of silage pushing. We start rolling Monday or tuesday.

  • "That's why we let the boss do that kind of thing" LOL Yep, that is what I tell dad too when he makes us do something silly.
