October 17, 1998 performance of The Delegates, a swing jazz band from New York City. This show took place in Windows on the World, a great venue in the North Tower of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. Windows on the World was destroyed when the North Tower collapsed during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

In 1997 Jim Greene (The Flying Neutrinos) and saxophonist Neal Sugarman (Daptone Records, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings) formed THE DELEGATES, a particularly strong jazz oriented quintet also including trumpeter Jeff McSpadden (The Blue Jumpers), guitarist Coleman Mellet (Chuck Mangione) and drummer Matthew Jorgensen (Matt Jorgensen +451). The Delegates became a fixture at New York Swing clubs and venues across the country. Their repertoire including Swing standards, obscurities (including from Buddy Johnson and T-Bone Waler), and originals in the swinging tradition. What set this group apart from many others during the Retro Swing Movement of the late 1990s was their high musicianship, muscular vocal and strong soloists, particularly Sugarman (inspired by Illinois Jacquet and Arnett Cobb), the versatile McSpadden, and the colorful Mellett. On February 12, 2009 Coleman Mellett was killed in the crash of Continental flight #3407 near Buffalo, New York. We all miss him.

Jim Greene - Bass, Vocals
Neal Sugarman - Tenor Saxophone
Jeff McSpadden - Trumpet
Coleman Mellett - Guitar
Matthew Jorgensen - Drums
