yup, shame the story was so basic but in that sense it keeps true to the original series. However i think a good script would have made it far better

Miami Vice is one of the best movies ever, everything that Michael Mann does turns into gold Such as HEAT and Collateral and the insider. The only bad movie that Mann has done was the Keep, I have yet to see Ali.

Im not on any high horse I just don't like it when people like you watch trailers for movies they don't like and make comments they think are witty and clever. @CultOfPersonality1 Michael Mann didn't write the script. If you were more intelligent you would realise that. Mann's work was fantastic in Miami Vice, his choice of scriptwriter I think even he would agree, was bad. So get off your high-horse

I appreciate this movie more and more every year. It exists on a level of cool that is immune from pretenders, the sort of people who would rather it have been a Fast and the Furious sequel. Only Michael Mann would consider to interrupt his crime drama for a vacation in Cuba, and have that be part of the draw of the movie and not a mere indulgence.
