"The Politics of Dancing" is a hit song by the British New Wave/synthpop band Re-Flex, released in 1983. It is the title track of their only released album.
It became the biggest hit of their career, peaking at #28 in the United Kingdom and #24 in the United States. The band managed to chart two more singles in the UK, but only managed to get one more single in the US. This song remains their signature song but makes Re-Flex considered as a one-hit wonder because of this song's massive popularity and the group's unpopular run of follow-up singles.

@panthervoodoo--I long for the America of the past especially life before the internet, cellphones, 24 hour news cycle, stock options, etc. Life wasn't perfect in the past, but it was organic. People weren't so defined by technology (Farcebook/Twit), fashion (Sex & The City, Real Sluts of Orange County), money and all these other status symbols like they are today. Its all about fitting in and staying ahead. The price we pay for that is being anxious, insecure and self-centered. Its sad imho.

@HelloMello4221 It is one in a million..it gets caught in your head....I was lucky to have had a much older sister who listened to all the pop music..and I was a kid but I remember this well....I wish those of your generation had the kind of music we had to grow upto.
