John T Williams - original song

After a thorough investigation in the tragic John T. Williams killing, It was found that he did not pose a serious threat to the Police officer who shot and killed him. Now that these facts have come out I had to rewrite the last verse. However lets not judge all Seattle Police Officers as outlaws because of this tragedy. Lets treat them with the respect they deserve. Not many can do the job they do while having to put up with all kinds of danger.. Peace and love to all.

V1) JOHN T WILLIAMS FROM THE NATIVE PLAINS WAS A CHAMPION OF HIS TRADE. HE COULD MAKE A BLOCK OF WOOD COME TO LIFE.
V2) FROM THE INDIAN NATIONS HE DID COME THOUGH HE LIVED AS A HOMELESS MAN. DRINKING ALL THE TIME TO EASE HIS TROUBLED MIND.
C) AINT IT A SHAME IT HAD TO BE THAT WAY.
V3)TOTEM POLE CARVING WAS HIS TRADE THOUGH IT WERENT MUCH AS FAR AS PAY. BUT WHITTLIN THAT KNIFE SEEMED TO PASS THE TIME AWAY.
V4) HE GOT ALONG FINE IN THE SOBER TIMES BUT HE HAD THE DRINKING GENE. THATS WHEN THE DEMONS THATS WHEN THE DEMONS CAME OUT AND TURNED HIM INTO SOMEONE ELSE.
C) AND IT A SHAME IT HAD TO BE THAT WAY.
V5) JOHN T WILLIAMS WAS DRUNK ON THE STREET WITH A KNIFE AND A BLOCK OF WOOD. WHITTLING AS HE WALKED WITH DEATH RIGHT BY HIS SIDE.
V6) WHEN A COP PULLED UP AND THOUGHT HIM STRANGE ON THE FATEFUL DAY. HE SAID DROP THAT KNIFE OR I`LL TAKE YOUR LIFE.
C) AINT IT A SHAME IT HAD TO BE THAT WAY.
V7) FOUR SHOTS RANG OUT ONE BY ONE FROM THE END OF A POLICE GUN. NOW HE`S LAYING DOWN DEAD IN A POOL OF BLOOD.
V8) WHEN THE SMOKE HAD CLEARED AND THE FACTS CAME OUT IT WAS FOUND THE COP WAS TO BLAME. THOUGH IN MOMENTS LIKE THAT TIME STANDS STILL.
C) BUT AINT IT A SHAME HE HAD TO DIE THAT WAY.

RIP. Watched the dash cam in my law enforcement class today and the cop was a total moron. You dont shoot someone for holding a knife, no matter how many times you tell them to drop it. Its cops like this that give departments and police in general a bad name. once again, RIP buddy.

@coolanddark You're right, of course. Not all cops are bullies who relish seeing citizens cringe before them, but since 9/11, I'd argue the whole country has turned into a police state. I hope the "good" cops don't shoot us when the masters tell them to. This particular shooting is hardly an appropriate response to the ambush murders perpretrated against the four Washington officiers. Deaf homeless Native whittlers beware!
