A depiction of how the Army's Future Combat System (FCS) could be used in the aftermath of a large earthquake in Southern California. This video was made in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and it's primary goal is to partially justify the expense of developing future weapons systems by showing how they can be used for Humanitarian purposes. Or, at least, that my take on it. This upload is from the original 24p uncompressed master.

  • they predict the future by making it so. this is propaganda.

  • @heroicseven Can you explain this general statement and how it pertains to the video? It's more marketing than propaganda. It is to convince congress to give more money to the military–industrial complex. There's nothing sinister about it.

  • its the duty of every american man to be prepared not only to fight for our rights but to survive a disaster. you should at the very least have enough food and supplies so you can survive for 3 days. you can either put together your own 3 day survival pack or the red cross store sells them.

  • Thanks for the public service announcement. However, not sure how the fight for our rights fits into a disaster plan. In fact, it's the last thing on my mind after a disaster. Perhaps you meant to say fight for scarce resources? And what should the women do while the men are out fighting for thier rights?

  • i said its the duty of american men to be prepared to fight AND also to be prepared to survive a disaster...not everyone relies on the government to take care of them. as in a survivalist mindset.
