The little Zytel-handled EDC knives offer incredible value for their sub $20 price: AUS-8 steel, sharp hollow ground blades, fast deployment, tight lockup, reversible pocket clip and thumbstud, and a super lightweight 2.4 oz. Several blades designs are offered including the shown Folding Hunter (clip style), Folding Skinner, and the Spear Point Hunter. Newer variations have serrations. Few other knives compare at the pricepoint and the Bob Dozier designed folders set a great standard of value for a utility/EDC blade. //////////////////Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 8 out of 10 (price considered)

  • @Supermassively I havn't had any trouble flipping it open, just a small flick of the wrist. I find the thumbstud adequate. The traction works fine for me, felt cheap at first, but I love it. The blade is fantastic. I don't like the clip as much. But for the money, you cannot beat it.

  • I bought this knife. I hate it. The only good thing about it is that the blade comes so sharp and maintains its edge. The lock sucks (secure, but impossible to use with one hand... back-locks suck in general). It can't be flipped open. The thumbstud is too smooth to get any traction on. The clip is tip-up-only. The volcano grip is useless (looks like it would be secure, but your fingers pretty much just slip along the direction of the pattern anyway).

I wish I could trade it for something.

  • the mini is pretty cool too, I bought a bunch as gifts this year.

  • I love the black and silver contrast.

  • i tried the remove the torx screws off of mine after it broke. the handles cheap plastic, dont drop it, it will break. the torx screwdriver is a t5 or t6 on that thumb stud, very small

  • Getting my gf a pink one for her birthday :)

  • To reverse the thumbstud, the hole on the new location of the screw would need to be beveled to accept the tapered screw head, I doubt that is the case, I could be wrong but I have encountered this problem on a few "reversible thumbstud" claims.

  • between this and the CRKT drifter, what would you recommend more, im leaning towards this because most people i know have had great experiences with kabar

  • I was doing a lot of homework to research which EDC knife to purchase. When it was all said and done, I simply couldn't pass this one up for quality and value.
